Stuart J C Avery is a commission artist based in rural Derbyshire.
Specialising in fine artistry, Stuart creates original portraits of people, animals and landscapes. With over 3 decades of professional experience, he has created artwork for household and famous names as well as national and local commissions.
Amongst the many commissions, several have included mass portraiture. One example shows H.R.H Prince Charles, The Prince of Wales about to start the ancient game of Royal Shrovetide football in Ashbourne 2003 where 230 cameo portraits of players and followers of the game are depicted.
Another painting produced in collaboration with the Football Association displays a montage of action portraits of the England 1990 World Cup Squad which went into print. The original 6' x 4' canvas now hangs at the Soho headquarters of the FA.
On the commercial side, a prestigious commission for artwork for a limited edition china plate featuring miniture portraits of the cast of the long running TV series 'Last of the Summer Wine' was produced to celebrate 25 years of the programme.
In addition to his portraiture, Stuart includes postcard design, illustrated calligraphic presentation pieces, book illustration and personalised cartoon characature, along with the dying art of the design and painting of pictorial pub signs. His versatility over wide ranging subjects reflects his long experience in the art world.
