Glenys Griffiths

Although working in London for much of her life, Glenys returned to living in the countryside in 1994 and since then has followed her dream of painting and drawing full time, inspired by her rural surroundings.
 
Glenys captures the local landscapes and villages of Sussex and Kent with pencil drawings, and in watercolour and oils.
She has a special interest in the study of butterflies and belongs to the Butterfly Conservation Group. She paints British butterflies in fine detail, in the tradition of botanical and scientific art. She studies their life cycles and includes other stages in their metamorphosis and sites them on their chosen habitat and food plant. 
Glenys now also paints British Birds as well, in a similar style to the butterflies.

Some of Glenys’ original paintings have been issued as limited edition numbered Giclee prints, as well as having been developed for a greetings cards series.
 
Glenys is also an accomplished fabric painter. She runs workshops for quilting groups.and those wanting to master the art of silk paintings for wallhangings, cushions and for wearable art.
Private commissions for drawings or paintings of homes, village scenes and animals are welcomed.
