Biographical details: Born in Northern Ireland, with a base in Rutland, England.
Education: Educated to degree level at Sussex University, Smith College, Massachussetts,USA and Cambridge University. Read English and American Studies and Education.
Educational and artistic development: Taught English and American Studies in Cambridgeshire for 20 years, including history of art, with particular emphasis on post-1960s art movements. Other interests have included the development of Cubism, Dada, abstract /non-objective art and Brit Art.
Went on to work in an educational context with the Cambridge University Examinations Board, Tate Modern in London and the civil service.
Artistic practice: I have carved with Abbas Hashemi at Wysing Arts in Cambridgeshire and, over a period of ten years, studied under Boutros Romhein in Carrara, Italy and at various studios in the city including Studio Ponte de Ferro, where I now work on a permanent basis.
Gallery representation and exhibitions: Currently represented at the Broomhill Art Gallery and Sculpture Gardens, Barnstaple, Devon, and the Penwith Gallery, St Ives, Cornwall.
Exhibitions have ranged from a one-man show in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire to representation at exhibitions by North Devon Arts, the Penwith Gallery St Ives and Studio Ponte de Ferro, Italy.
